Given the epic forecast myself, Jamie Drummond and Rossco Moore planned to get in early and catch the low tide (0658). We met at the beach at 0645 and it was howling, although it was still pitch black and you couldn’t see the water! We decided to drive down the the end of the car park at West Wittering as it was only then a short walk into ‘The Trench’. It then became light as we rigged and hit the water shortly after 7am.
Once on the water we were met with an unforecast SSE wind which made moves on starboard rather interesting as it was a little choppy!
Soon after this Rossco left for work so myself and Drummond sailed into the harbour entrance to play in the head high rolling swell, the direction meant that we could jump on both tacks and also ride the waves on both tacks, felt a little odd!!
the tide then got a little high and we moved back into the trench for some choppy freestyle action! Again we had some funny crashes given the chop!
More again tomorrow, look forward to it!
